It is such a blessing for me to be part of the family at Mercy Clinic. It’s so neat to watch God build His ministry and meet many needs on a daily basis. I’m reminded of the scripture in Malachi where God says “bring the whole tithe into the storehouse and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not be able to contain it.”
Mercy’s tithe brought into the storehouse is the obedience, commitment, love and compassion of God’s people poured out everyday through contributions of time, financial support of the community, and most importantly prayers. God is honoring His word by continuing to bless in mighty ways.
I’m thankful for my Christian heritage; being raised in the church and a Christian home as a “PK” (preachers kid). God called me to be a nurse when I was in elementary school and it’s been a wonderful journey walking in His will for my life down through the years.
He allowed me 28 years as a bedside nurse in a hospital setting, and opportunities to serve on several medical mission trips to other countries. The latter 16 years of my career was working with children at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital; now I have the privilege of working in a different arena with kids in a Christian clinic.
I attended Trevecca Nazarene College for a few short months where I met my husband, then God opened doors for me to transfer to Belmont College to pursue my nursing degree, where I graduated in 1980.
My husband is a wonderful Christian man that loves and serves the Lord, and we are blessed with two grown sons and a precious grandson which are the joy of our lives. During my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities especially in the spring and fall. I love to go camping, backpacking, hiking, and my favorite places to get away are the mountains and the ocean. It’s so awesome to be still and bask in the beauty and handy-work of God!
