Sara Bogue is a native of Knoxville, TN where she was raised to believe that all people are loved by God and have been given a divine opportunity to return that love and serve others. In 2000, Sara moved to Nashville to attend Lipscomb University and was involved in campus life, the local church community, and pursuing a degree in Psychology. Sara has participated in short-term mission trips to Honduras, Jamaica, Guatemala, and Mexico. She has a passion for children, youth, and serving their families. After graduating, Sara was invited to a local church and would serve as a Youth Minister, where her primary role included programming, teaching, leading, and developing resources specifically for the teen girls. Through her experience in Youth Ministry, Sara felt called to further her education and pursue a degree in her area of interest: Counseling Psychology. She returned to her Alma Mater and received a Master of Science in Psychology from Lipscomb University in December 2009.
Sara came to Mercy Children’s Clinic in November 2009 and is humbled to work alongside the loving staff and partner with the inspiring families who also call Mercy their home. In her time off, Sara enjoys spending time with close friends, travelling to new places, going for coffee, driving with the windows down, and training for her very first ½ marathon!
Inspired by 2 Corinthians 4:7-9 (NIV)
“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”
