I grew up in a pastor’s home and as far back as I can remember, I felt the call to ministry. For me, that means serving as a counselor. I have a B.A. in psychology from Lee University, an M.A. in Christian Education from the Church of God Theological Seminary and an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton Graduate School. I am currently working on my EdD in Learning and Leadership from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Tennessee since 1998.
I have 19 years of experience working with children and youth and their families. I worked 3 years for Hiwassee Mental Health Center at their therapeutic preschool, both as a counselor/teacher and as a supervisor. I worked for several years at Smoky Mountain Children’s Home as a counselor/social worker. I also have 3 years of experience working as a behavioral specialist for children on the autism spectrum. Currently I am one of the counselors at New Hope Academy here in Franklin.
My favorite scripture is Ephesians 4:23-24: And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
