Josie Oakley, LMFT

Josie Oakley

I am so excited to be serving the community through Mercy Children’s Clinic.

I have had the pleasure of being a preschool teacher for 3 and 4 year old children and then a bilingual instructional assistant for the Santee School District in San Diego, California. I have over 18 years experience working with teenagers in a youth group setting.

I have earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development from Christian Heritage College in San Diego, California and graduated Summa Cum Laude.  I earned a Masters of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Bethel Seminary/University in San Diego, California.

In 2006, I moved to Spring Hill, Tennessee and became licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist by the state of Tennessee.

I am a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, the Tennessee Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and the Nashville Area Association of Christian Counselors.

I am married to Craig Oakley and we are so thankful to have our son, Michael and daughter-in-law Rebekah, as well as our daughter Rosanna, living locally in Tennessee.

My hobbies include photography, enjoying our porch swing, watching fireflies, talking to dear friends and family, exercising, and loving our Beagle puppies, Summer and Sophie.

Favorite scriptures are:

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.  He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion-to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.  They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display if his splendor.”  Isaiah 61:1-3

“Jesus wept”.  John 11:35

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous.  Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”  Joshua 1:9
