My interest in psychology began with a deep interest in people’s differences and similarities. While earning my undergraduate degree at Middle Tennessee State University, I enjoyed learning about different cultures and societies. That interest led me to look at individuals and how they respond to life’s situations and their surroundings.  During my time in graduate school at Trevecca Nazarene University I learned many approaches to helping others learn about themselves and others. Now, I help individuals and families appreciate the similarities and differences of people surrounding them. I enjoy helping people attain skills to adapt or change so they feel more comfortable with their life and the people in it.  I use a variety of therapy techniques because every client deserves a personalized approach.

I am credentialed by the State of Tennessee as a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Mental Health Service Provider designation, and I am also a National Certified Counselor. My professional experience is varied in settings and age groups. This includes in-patient counseling at Middle Tennessee Mental Health Institute for Children and Youth, community mental health counseling at The Guidance Center, and school counseling at St. Edward School via Catholic Charities. I also have experience in private practice at Counseling Associates in Nashville. I am happy to now serve Mercy Family Services clients.

I currently reside in Davidson County with my husband and daughter. Soon, however, we will be moving to Williamson County.

Encouraging scripture: So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. John 16:33 (KJV)
