MISSION STATEMENT: “To Reflect the Love and Compassion of Jesus Christ by Providing Healthcare Services to ALL children and support to their families.”
Compelled by the grace of God and the biblical mandate to serve our neighbors in “word and deed”, Mercy Children’s Clinic is distinct as a pediatric health clinic. Mercy was opened in 1999 through the efforts of many in the faith community of Franklin.
Today, Mercy has a staff of more than forty full and part -time staff. Each of our physicians is Board Certified in Pediatric Medicine. Our patients come from more than twenty five counties in Tennessee. Why do they come from so far? In the for-profit medical communities, it is unprofitable to care for the underserved and uninsured. Consequently, 67% or 2/3 of Mercy’s patients are uninsured or on TnCare (Medicaid).
Currently -
Mercy Children’s Clinic is known for its accessible, affordable, compassionate, wholistic care as we desire to serve our neighbors in body, mind, and spirit. No one is turned away because of their inability to pay. MCC is removing additional barriers by working constantly to provide more bilingual services to the Hispanic community.
Complimenting primary healthcare, Mercy provides comprehensive social and behavioral health services to our clients. Mercy Family Services, begun in 2006, currently has two full-time and two part-time counselors and a part time Psychiatrist providing mental health care for our patients and their families. Additionally, our staff works in collaboration with other agencies in our area to provide food, clothing, and shelter.
One of our patient-parents recently commented,
“. . . you represent Jesus to me and my family. When my family and I come to Mercy, I know we will be cared for like no where else. I don’t know where I would go if you weren’t here.”
Mercy has two revenues streams; reimbursement for services from TNCare/insurance companies resulting in approximately $1.2 million and the generosity of individuals, corporations, and foundations for about $1.2 million. Your support of Mercy will go towards off-setting the $2.4 million needed to provide services to so many who otherwise might go without. Specifically,
➢ $46,000 will fund a week of care to approximately 260 children
➢ $25,000 will provide for almost 400 mental health visits
➢ $10,000 will provide needed patient medications for about 2 weeks
➢ $8,500 will provide a full day of care for approximately 60 children
➢ $3,000 will provide Spanish language immersion for a physician
➢ $1,000 will provide a typical sick visit for 7 uninsured children
➢ $100 will provide a strep test for an uninsured child
➢ $35 will provide a breathing exercise for a child with Asthma
